This picture was taken on July 14th, 2005. It was about 6 months before what I sometimes refer to as “D-Day” or the day of his autism diagnosis. Look at the pain on his face. He is completely lost in his own world. He was suffering…this was his “norm.” Every. Single. Day.
This picture was taken on August 19th, 2011. It’s been a long, hard haul…but I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. Look at his smile. Look at his eyes. I have my boy back.
